MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor M. Duff

That the Manager undertakes a full safety review of all Luas junctions within the Tallaght area with a view to implementing a better notification system for road traffic to warn of trams crossing etc. such as extra ground signage or additional warning lights similar to train level crossing lights.

REPORT:

Advance warning signs advising road users to the presence of the Luas where installed on all appoaches to Luas crossings and junctions.

The junctions will be surveyed to ensure that these signs remain in place.

When a Luas is crossing the public road at any point all conflicting traffic movements have a red signal.  No other signals or signs are appropriate.
