MOTION: Councillor E. Coburn

"That this Committee discuss with the aid of a report the status of the bridge re-instatement at Prospect Manor and the planned timings for the bridge re-opening."

REPORT:

The work of reinstating the pedestrian bridge at Prospect Manor has been substantially completed.  There are a number of minor works and a final inspection and certification to be undertaken before the bridge can be reopened to the public.  An on site meeting has been arranged to progress this and as a result of this meeting it should be clear as to when it will be possible to have the bridge reopened.

There are other works to take place associated with the bridge work but that involves work in or adjacent to the river and that cannot take place until May 2013 due to restrictions by Fisheries Ireland on work on watercourses.  This work will not affect the timeline for the reopening of the bridge.

The Elected Members will be updated on the progress of the work and the agreed date for reopening.
