QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon

To ask the Manager to report on progress with regard to the achievement of the SLO in the current Development Plan with regard to the extension of Dodder Valley Park from Old Mill to Bohernabreena?

REPLY:

A full ecological survey of the relevant section of the Dodder Valley was completed in 2012.  This information is currently being used to prepare an environmental constraints map with a view to identifying areas of ecological interest and potential public access points to the Valley.  Also in 2012, a feasibility study of a strategic cycle route or 'greenway' along the Dodder Valley from Dublin City Centre to the Bohernabreena was completed.  NTA funding has been allocated to progress downstream sections of this route in 2013 and will be sought for additional sections, including the area upstream from the Old Mill, in future years.
