MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

That this Council congratulates the staff and volunteers involved in Opportunity to Transform Walk in Corkagh Park and supports efforts to encourage more people into parks around the County.

REPORT:

The Member's compliments are appreciated and have been passed to the staff involved. The Opportunity to Transform event, held on Saturday 23rd February in Corkagh Park, was organised by the SDCC Sports Partnership Co-ordinator and was attended by 500 runners and walkers. It is proposed to continue to encourage the use of the Council's parks for events like this throughout the year.
