MOTION NO. 15

MOTION: Councillor A.M. Dermody

"To ask the Manager to again consider adding a pedestrian activation option at the traffic lights linking Ann Devlin Road and Ballyroan Road. You will recall that I had sought this service through CMAS last month. The reply back was to say that such a facility is already in position, however it is not so. There is no pedestian activation option at the junction of Ballyroan Road & Anne Devlin Road (Templeogue Bridge end of Ballyroan Road).  Please can you address and revert."

REPORT:

The traffic signals at the Ballyroan Road Anne Devlin Road junction contain pedestrian push button units to cross the main (Ballyroan) Road.

There are no push buttons to cross the Anne Devlin Road as there is little difficulty in crossing this side road.  Significant works would be required to provide such a facilty as a new pole, cabling, signal heads and footpath works would be necessary

Under current financial restraints there is no funding for such works. The matter could be re-assessed in the future should funding allow.
