MOTION: Councillor M. Devine

That the Manager provide an update on plans for the "old shop" at the entrance to Rossfield Estate which is an eyesore and subject to illegal dumping

REPORT:

The title to the former shop premises at Rossfield Avenue has yet to be regularised. The lease of the premises is held by the parties who operated the shop initially and who have been re-located to a shop premises at 17, Brookfield Court. Terms for the lease of the shop at Brookfield Court have been issued to the occupants which includes the formal surrender of the lease of the premises at 2 Rossfield Avenue. However the occupants have not yet agreed terms and the matter has been referred to the Council's Law Department to advise on the options available to the Council, to bring this matter to a conclusion.

The Council's Housing Department had previously  prepared a proposal to redevelop this area subject to availability of funding and the title issues being resolved.
