MOTION NO. 16

MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

That the Manager addresses the issue of illegal dumping on the Monastery Road side of the flyover at the Luas stop.

REPORT:

All reports of dumped waste are inspected by the Litter Warden to ascertain evidence as to who is responsible for the dumping.  No evidence has been obtained from material dumped at this location to secure prosecution under the Litter Pollution Act l997. Following inspection by the Litter Warden, a request is made to the Council's Cleansing Crew  to have material removed.   Waste bags were recently removed by the Cleansing Crew from this location.

The area will continue to be closely monitored by the Council's Litter Warden.
