MOTION NO. 25

MOTION: Councillor T. Delaney

That the Manager presents a report on what measures are planned to deal with the expected traffic disruption on commencement of the Newlands Interchange works and also to confirm start dates etc.

REPORT:

The contractor is obliged to submit outline traffic management proposals to the Council to deal with his proposed construction sequencing. While an indicative traffic mangement proposal has been identified to the preferred tenderer to maintain all existing traffic movements, keeping disruption to a minimum, it is not yet possible to identify the contractors proposed construction methods and hence his construction phasing.The Contract is expected to be signed  between the NRA and the chosen contractor next month following which detailed traffic management proposals will be submitted for approval.
