QUESTION NO. 10

QUESTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

To thank the Manager for her help regarding Cherrywood Avenue and to ask if poison can be put in around the bridge and where appropriate to address the issue of rat infestation?

REPLY:

The Manager acknowledges the thanks and works are ongoing to improve the Cherrywood Avenue situation regarding the bottle banks and illegal dumping.

Unfortunately, it can be quite difficult to control rodent populations and bait is normally only used as a last resort as the bait itself can pose a risk to children and other animals.

The Parks Section will arrange an inspection of this area to establish if baiting of the area is required.
