QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager to seek to arrange a meeting between the elected members and the National Waste Collection Permit Office regarding issues relating to the permitting of local waste collectors?

REPLY:

Following on from previous discussions with Members on the performance a number of waste collectors, the Council's Waste Enforcement team has been in discussion with the National Waste Collection Permit Office with regard to pursuing the various matters raised. These matters are currently under investigation by both the NWCPO, SDCC and other Authorities and individual cases can not therefore be discussed.

To ensure that Members are fully informed, a briefing session will be arranged for Members on the role of the NWCPO and the processes involved in the permitting of Waste Collectors.
