MEETING OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

Monday, February 11, 2013

QUESTION NO. 10

QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

To ask the Manager whether she has considered the changes that would be necessary to the Council chamber in the event of an increase in the number of elected representatives to forty as envisaged by the Government and whether these changes have been costed?

REPLY:

The question of accommodation for any additional Members would have to be considered in the light of any recommendation made by Local Electoral Area Boundary Committee and any approval granted by the Minister. Until final details are made known it would be difficult to finalise any plan for their accommodation.

Should the numbers of elected representatives be increased as envisaged the option for accommodation for Members will be examined with a view to keeping costs as low as possible and exploring re-arrangement prior to identifying any building works.
