QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to provide details in terms of the number of kilometres of unused or virtually unused bus lanes within the Tallaght area?"

REPLY: 

There are approximately 15km of dedicated bus lanes in the Tallaght area. These lanes were provided to enhance the service provided by public transport. Approximately 4km of these do not have dedicated Bus Atha Cliath Bus routes. These would  include parts of Bothar Katharine Tynan, part of Cheeverstown Road and parts of Ballycullen Road. However all of these routes would be used by Bus Eireann, private bus operators, taxis and cyclists.
