That the Manager prepares a report to indicate the cleansing system in place for cycle lanes within the Tallaght area.

REPORT:

The Cycle tracks within the Tallaght Area are swept as either part of the scheduled Road sweeping contract when the track is on the Road carriageway or they are swept by a Mini Sweeper three times a year  in those locations where the cycle track is separated from the Road carriageway.  The frequency of cleansing of cycle tracks by the road sweeping contractor is monthly where the cycle track lies on a main road, and once every three months where the cycle track forms part of a dual carriageway.  The following is the list of locations in the Tallaght area where the cycle tracks do not form part of the road carriageway and are not swept by the road sweeping contractor, but instead are swept by mini-sweeper.  It should be noted that reports of broken glass/waste on the cycle tracks are assigned to the Cleansing Section who utilise the services of a crew to clean up the material and these in general are responded to within 24 hours.
