QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask this Committee supports the removal of the "Libertas" political poster at the top of "The Dip" near Greenpark on the Greenhills Road; and that the Council contact the "Libertas" organisation to ensure they bear the brunt of any costs or fines for this poster and cable ties nearby remaining in place."

REPLY:

The Council's Roads Department have confirmed that the "Libertas" poster was removed on Tuesday 22nd January 2013.  The Council's Litter warden has attempted on numerous occassions to serve a fine on this organisation but has been unsuccessful due to the fact that no contact details can be obtained from the poster nor their official web site.  However, the Council will put up a request on their contact page requesting them to refrain from erecting any more illegal posters.
