MOTION: Councillor C. Jones

"That the Manager will liaise with Athletics Ireland to host a 'Park Run' in the Lucan Electoral Area or through-out the county."

REPORT:

Lucan Harriers have an annual 5km run / jog event, as do Tallaght Athletic Club and Rathfarnham Athletic Club.

 The Sports Partnership Office has an "Operation Transformation" walk / run planned for Saturday 19th January in Corkagh Park. There is an "Opportunity To Transform"  5km run / walk planned for the 23rd of February in Corkagh Park.

There is also a Ramble Aid 5k planned for the 12th,19th and 26th May in Griffeen Park, Corkagh Park and Tymon Park, although it has not been decided yet which date will apply to which park.

There are also plans to have a series of "park walks" in the month of April, but dates and venues have yet to be arranged. These will be advertised as soon as the details are agreed upon and dates and times confirmed.
