QUESTION: Councillor C. Jones

"To ask the Manager if there are any plans to provide language classes for pre-school age children in the Lucan Electoral Area?"

REPLY:

The staff in Lucan Library have been in touch with colleagues in the County Library Tallaght concerning language learning for pre school children as this service has been offered in Tallaght on previous occasions. Experience has shown that the take up of such classes is better in the period after Easter and that a morning slot suits parents. It is therefore hoped to begin French language classes for children aged 3 to 5 years in Lucan Library on Tuesday mornings starting in April 2013. A local facilitator has been identified and the dates and times will be finalised very shortly.
