MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor E. Coburn

"That this Committee discuss with the aid of a report the current list of unfinished housing estates in the Rathfarnham Ward, the current classification of each with regard to the Household Charge and any appeals that have been received by SDCC from resident associations as to their classification."

REPORT:

Stocking Wood (including Stocking Well) and Dal Riada are the only unfinished housing estates in the Rathfarnham area. They are classified as B and A respectively. This classification was based on the categorisation definition's provided by the Department of Environment Community and Local Government in 2011. There are a number of other schemes such as Airpark, Loretto Terrace, Boden Park and Fortfield square at various stages of the TIC process where all building works are complete.

We have received no appeals from residents associations in respect of household charges. We have received numerous individual enquiries seeking explanation of the categorisation system which we provided.
