The Council has no way of knowing which clubs or organisations applied for and were refused funding under the Scheme, unless the club / organisation got in touch with the Council seeking help or advice. The funding awarded to the clubs and organisations across the County will only serve to improve the range of sporting facilities available to the people of South Dublin County.
It is not clear at this stage when further funding of this nature will be available again, although it has been suggested that this may not happen again for soem considerable amount of time. In the meanwhile, the Council's Sports Officers and the Sports Partnership based in County Hall will continue to work closely with all sporting bodies and clubs to encourage people of all ages and abilities to actively engage in exercise and sporting activities.
