MOTION NO. 11

MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

That the Manager present a report on the planned work on the Old Nangor Road in Clondalkin between the Mill Centre and Coláiste Chillian with particular reference to the following issues.

1.  The timetable for the commencement of the work and it's expected duration

2.  Arrangements for pedestrian safety for the duration of the works.

3.  The plans for the rebuilding of the limestone wall which has to be removed to allow for the widening of the road.

REPORT:

1. It is hoped that the works commence as soon as possible in 2013 and will take approximately 2 months. Currently the legal representatives are processing the transfer of the land necessary to carry out the works.

2. A Contractor will be engaged to carry out the works and will be required to provide a traffic management plan to safely cater for pedestrians during the construction works.

3. The existing wall will be taken down and the stone saved. The wall will then be re-erected along a new alignment using the existing stone from the old wall.

It should be noted that Public lighting has already been installed and is operational.
