QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff
"To ask the Manager to make a report indicating (A) how many mobile shops are licenced to trade by South Dublin County Council in the Tallaght area,(B) where are they licenced to trade,(C) what is the cost of such licence and (D) to indicate if there is a mechanism for collecting rates from such Traders and (F) who oversees Health and Safety in such units?"
REPLY:
There are currently 4 designated casual trading sites in South Dublin County Councils administrative area, of which two are based in the Tallaght area. One is a Food Stall which is based/trading from beside the Jobstown Depot and the other is selling flowers based/trading from outside Bohernabreena Cemetery.
The cost of a Food Stall license is €380.92 and the cost of selling flowers is €255.
The Council will request the Valuation Officer to inspect these casual traders to ascertain whether charging rates is viable or not.
The Health & Safety Authority oversee any issues regarding helath & safety.
