MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"That the Manager include in the traffic calming project for Whitechurch Road the green area and pathway northbound at Whitechurch Road at the entrance to St.Gatiens Court. The young trees and saplings are blocking the view of cars exiting St. Gatiens Court and need to be cut back."

REPORT:

The funding for Traffic Calming works on Whitechurch Road was allocated for specialist items only, i.e. the construction of ramps and traffic lights, and these works are now substantially complete. No landscaping was included in the funding. The removal of trees on the south side of St. Gatien’s Court is therefore not envisaged under these works. The recently constructed ramps will slow traffic on the approach to St Gatien’s Court, making it easier and safer to exit than has been the case heretofore.
