MOTION NO. 8

MOTION: Councillor M. Duff

That this Committee calls on  the Manager, following the inspection carried out in August 2012 of the site to the right of the Maxol Service Station on Mayberry Road, to take immediate action to have the site declared Derelict under the Derelict Site Act 1990 and to undertake to have the site cleared of all overgrowth and ragworth, immediately.

REPORT:

It was the intention of the Council to issue a Section 11 notice for the Site on Mayberry Road.  On examination of the file, it was agreed that a more up to date inspecton should be carried out prior to issue of this notice.  This has been requested and once the new report has been received, if conditons are the unchanged, a Section 11 notice under the Derelict Sites Act 1990  will be issued.
