QUESTION NO. 18
QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy
To ask the Manager for the up-to-date figure on the percentage of eligible households in the County which have paid the 2011 Household Charge to date?
REPLY:
The following is the postiion in relation to the Household Charge as at the 3/12/2012:
Properties Paid | Waivers | Total Paid + Waivers | Estimated Liable CSO | % |
52,033 | 414 | 52,447 | 81,822 | 64.10% |
The Local Authorities have been informed that a target of 65% must be achieved to avoid a reduction in their allocation of the Local Government Fund. Therefore, the total number of properties which have either to pay or have waivers must reach 53,184 (i.e. 737 properties outstanding). Should this Council's collection not reach the 65% , the Local Government Fund will be reduced by €84,820.00
