QUESTION NO.13
QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney
To ask the Manager for an update to my question from the June Council meeting with regard to NAMA and the Social Dividend (Item 32106)?
REPLY:
2,000 residential properties were offered as a first tranche of units for social use nationwide by NAMA 18 of which were identified as in the South Dublin administrative area.
The matter is dealt with on behalf of all Local Housing Authorities through the Housing and Sustainable Communities Agency.
The council confirmed to the HSCA that there was a demand for the 18 properties and expressed an interest in procuring them by way of lease of the properties but proposal has not been confirmed to date.
A second tranche of properties was anticipated for later this year but is now likely to be 2013. No details are yet available of the specific timeframe for the release.
