South Dublin County Arts Development Strategy 2011-2015
REPLY:
Consultation for the Arts Development Strategy 2011-2015 began in August 2010 with the establishment of http://SouthDublinArtsConsultation.blogspot.com which invited the public to make a submission to the consultation process, provided the schedule for focus group meetings and an Arts Consultation Seminar.
A working draft of the Arts Development Strategy outlining the priorities for development between 2011 and 2015, with detailed actions, was presented to the Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Education & Libraries Strategic Policy Committee on the 26th September 2011. Delivery of a number of actions in the working draft began in 2011 including research on the development of cultural hubs, the establishment of an artist’s network, and research into the artistic practices of artists from culturally diverse and immigrant backgrounds. The draft was made available to the public in Libraries across the county.
A full timeline for the implementation of the strategy was presented to the Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Education & Libraries Strategic Policy Committee meeting 14th February 2012. The SPC recommended South Dublin County Arts Development Strategy 2011-2015 for adoption by Council at its meeting on the 13th November 2012.
