QUESTION: Councillor E. Higgins

"To ask the Manager for details of any Fitwalk initiatives in the Lucan LEA?"

REPLY:

The Sports Partnership has introduced the Fitwalk initiative to several Community Centres across the County. The Fitwalk initiative is an indoor event and the Sports Partnership pays for everything involved, including room hire, which means that the Community Centres get an extra very useful activity in their premises free of charge and they also have an income stream. The Sports Partnership pays for the tutors and also supplies posters to the Community Centres so that they can advertise the events.

The Sports Partnership will roll out a programme in the Lucan area over the coming months subject to being able to match the times the Centres are available with the times that the Fitwalk tutors are available.
