QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

"To ask the Manager for a progress report on the issues raised by the Palmerston Action Group at their recent Deputation meeting?"

REPLY:

ROADS -Item 4: There was extensive footpath repairs carried out in the Palmerston Village area, including from the Church to Robin Villas and in the vicinity of the Aldi Store.

TRAFFIC - Parking surveys are under preparation to form the basis of revised Control of Parking Bye Laws in 2013. The NRA and NTA are proposing a cycle track from Chapelizod to Palmerston and towards Lucan as part of the strategic cycle network.

ENVIRONMENT-item 5: The Handcart operative is in the Palmerston Village area everyday and the area is regularly inspected by the foreman. Reports of waste material are assigned for collection by the crews and locations for litterbins are being assessed.

PARKS – Item : Discussions are ongoing with the Public Realm Design Team in relation to a possible cycle/pedestrian permeability link at this location.  The area adjacent to the bollards has been included in the grass cutting programme.
