MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

That the Manager present an update on the unoccupied houses in St Brigid's Cottages.  As some of them are clearly derelict, could the process be commenced to find the owners as is possible under the Derelict Sites Act.

REPORT:

A total of six no. properties are currently unoccupied at St. Brigid's Cottages, Clondalkin.  All of the properties have been inspected for the purposes of the Derelict Sites Act l990 and all have been found to be non derelict within the definition of the Act.   However, letters pursuant to Section ll of the Derelict Sites Act l990 have been served on the owner of four of the properties requesting the owner to undertake specified works to prevent the properties from becoming derelict. These notices are due to expire l6th November next.   The remaining two properties registered in the same company name, are currently being investigated by the Council's Dangerous Buildings Inspector for the purposes of the Sanitary Services Act l964.
