HOUSING CONSTRUCTION AND PROCUREMENT REPORT:

SOCIAL HOUSING LEASING INITIATIVE

As at 1/11/12 a total of 160 privately owned properties have been procured under lease arrangements and the properties made available for tenanting by persons on the social housing list.

• 28 of these properties are in the Clondalkin electoral area. 

22 cases are in process county wide

• 4 are in the Clondalkin electoral area.   

VOLUNTARY HOUSING REPORT

Valhalla, Watery Lane, Clondalkin.

The Council, in conjunction with Clanmil Housing Association Ireland Limited, is providing an integrated sheltered housing project of 10 dwellings and one staff office unit at Valhalla, Watery Lane, Clondalkin.  The accommodation layout consists of:

• 5 X 1 bedroom ground floor units (including four special needs units)
• 4 X 1 bedroom units
• 1 X 2 bedroom duplex on the first and second floors.

All units will be fully accessible with own door.

The construction contract for Valhalla is a 15 month one which began in November 2011.  The works are progressing on schedule and look set to be completed by the target completion date of January 2013.
