QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager for a report on the installation of the Outdoor Fitness equipment in parks under the remit of this Committee, to report on their usage since installation, and to make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY:

Eleven items of Outdoor Fitness equipment were installed in each of the following locations in the Tallaght South and Central Electoral Area:

·        Tymon Park (Tymon North and Willington sides of the park)

·        Beechfield Park

·        Glendown Park

·        Greenhills Park

·        Ballymount Park

·        Kingswood Open Space

The feedback from the public has been overwhelmingly positive to the installation of the equipment and the usage of them is very high.  The Council is currently working on a programme to develop and maximise the use of the equipment by the public, particularly for those in the older age category.
