QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
To ask the Manager to report on the total amount of development contribution funding still available to SDCC for investment in capital projects?
REPLY:
Capital Programme 2011/2013
The Capital Programme 2011/2013 was presented to the members at the Organisation, Procedures and Finance Committee meeting in September 2011. The programme provides that expenditure of €23,262,893 will be funded from development contributions during this period. This includes -
- €4,536,338 for projects which are in contractual arrangement
- €9,588,717 for projects which are committed subject to identification and availability of funding
- €9,137,838 for projects which are planned but subject to availability of funding.
Development Contributions
The development contributions which have been received to date are fully committed to expenditure which has been incurred or is planned as part of the three year capital programme. A range of additional projects were identified in the capital programme for funding from development contributions if the resources became available. A project to review, update and extend the current capital programme to 2015 has also been initiated and the draft programme will be presented to the members in December.
For information the pattern of development contributions has decreased considerably in line with the decrease in construction activity in the county (See graph attached)
