That the Manager give a status update with regard to the delivery or proposals for skate park facilities in the Tallaght area.

REPORT:

Skateboard Parks

The Council's policy in relation to the provision of skateparks is set out in the County Devleopment Plan 2010 - 2016 under Policy SCR54.

It is the policy of the Council to continue to provide Skateboard Parks in each Electoral Area within the County. The location and nature of these parks will be developed in consultation with potential users of such facilities, local Councillors and local residents.

The Council approved a Part 8 Master Plan for Jobstown Park in 2011 which included for the provision of a skatepark adjacent to the Talaght Sports & Leisure building.

The further development of proposals for the skatepark is subject to the availablity of the necessary resources.
