PART 8 - Proposed extension and enhancement proposals for Friarstown Allotments

Part 8 Public Consultation for a Proposal to enhance and extend the existing allotment site at Friarstown, Bohernabreena

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000

Planning and Development Regulations 2001 to 2012 

Proposal

This is a proposal to enhance and extend the existing allotment site at Friarstown, Bohernabreena.  The proposal consists of the following elements:

Extend the number of existing 128 allotments by 169 comprising of

·         76 allotments of 100m2 each

·         73 allotments of 50m2 each

·         20 allotments of varying sizes from 112m2 to 260m2

Construct associated access paths, fencing, gates, site divisions, water provision.

Enhance the allotment site by the provision of:

·         A new amenity and educational facility.  This building will provide:

•        Male, female and disabled toilets
•        Meeting room that can also be used for educational, demonstration and display purposes
•       Office storage

·         The planting of a new tree and hedge lined entrance avenue

·         Designated car parking

·         Provision of regularized storage facilities for the use of allotment holders

·         Information signage

The proposal is illustrated graphically on accompanying outline drawing Number PLS 1233-19.

It should be noted that the realisation of some or all of the proposals is dependent on securing the necessary finance and the Council will be making an application to the EU LEADER programme for the necessary funding.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at:

(a) South Dublin County Council Offices, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 between the hours of 9:00 am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am - 4.30pm on Friday (Inspection and purchase),

(b) County Library, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 between the hours of 9.45am-8.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.45am - 4.30pm Friday and Saturday (inspection only).

(c) The existing allotment site at Friarstown, Bohernabreena(inspection only).

The plans and particulars will be on display from Thursday 27^th September 2012 to 9^th November 2012.
