MOTION: Councillor D. Looney

That this Committee welcomes the positive news from the Chief State Solicitors Office and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport on resolving some of the technical matters which were holding up work on the TASC Pavilion planned for Tymon Park. This Committee requests an update on the current status of the project and a projected timeline of the project, and urges the speedy delivery of the TASC Pavilion to cater for the variety of applicable sporting groups and their hundreds of members.

REPORT:

Following agreement with the Department of Transport Tourism and Sport, the project will go out to tender in October 2012. Allowing for the time required for the procurement process, it is anticipated that work could commence on the project in late December 2012 / early January 2013.
