MOTION: Councillor M. Duff

Would the Manager please make a report regarding the condition of the footpaths in Tymon Park, adjacent to the lake at the Tymon side of the Park. There are a substantial number of potholes on this path and with an increase in the numbers using the Park, especially since the installation of the Adult Excercise Equipment, it is important that the footpaths are kept in a proper and safe condition.

REPORT:

The majority of the paths in Tymon Park were constructed over 25 years ago and most are at a stage where they require substantial maintenance or rebuild.  It is not possible to rebuild the entire footpath system in the park within current financial constraints. It is therefore planned to identify the areas of path that are in poorest condition and undertake reinstatement  / repair in 2013, subject to the availability of the necessary resources.
