THE PROVISION OF AN IRISH AVIATION MUSEUM AND HERITAGE CENTRE

REPLY:

Draft tender documents are currently under discussion with the Irish Air Corps and LEADER regarding the undertaking of a feasibility study to identify and assess the potential viability and location of a dedicated aviation heritage museum in South Dublin County. Funding support from LEADER will be sought for this study.

The scope of the feasibility study is to include a review of the current Aviation Museum’s potential to expand and develop its display and collection procedures, particularly in terms of regional tourism development plans and strategic thinking among potential partner agencies. Viable locations are also to be reviewed and potential sustainable management templates appropriate for an aviation museum are to be examined.
