SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (1)

MOTION NO. 22
MOTION: Councillor D. Looney
That this Committee welcomes the plans outlined at this month's full Council meeting for Hallowe'en activities in the area under the remit of this Committee; that it is again requested that an event be considered for the area east of the M50 (Dublin 12/6w); and that an update be given on activities, events and measures planned around Hallowe'en specific to this area.
REPORT:
In 2012 the Council are planning an alternative celebration at Halloween. In the weeks running up to Halloween youth groups will prepare artistic pieces which will be displayed on the night of the 31st October in Tallaght and North Clondalkin. It is hoped that young people from around the County will come out to watch the spectacle. This is a new venture and it is hoped that these 2 events will develop into a the way that we celebrate Halloween. There will be a review of this new pilot approach after the event in order to plan for next year. In addition to these planned events there will be local events in community centres and halls throughout the County.
