QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

To ask the Manager to consider 30 k/ph zones during school hours on Limekiln Road (outside St Peter's BNS) and on Limekiln Lane (accounting for the areas of St Paul's Secondary School, the Church of the Holy Spirit and St Paul's Primary Schools), and to make a statement on the matter.

REPLY:

The provision of low speed limits for schools cannot be equitably dealt with in isolation.  Immediately at schools it is clearly observed that speed is low or very low due to congestion and thereby a 30km/h speed limit will in all probability not have any relevance.  Limekiln Road (St. Peter's BNS) and Limekiln Lane (St Paul's Secondary School, the Church of the Holy Spirit and St Paul's Primary Schools), will be inspected to see if this is the case.
