MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

That this Committee closes off the gap at the green in Palmerstown Woods at the 3rd road as you go in, take the left, go 2 more roads and undertake to replace the wire with proper protection that cannot be breached.

REPORT:

An inspection of the boundary that separates the open space in Palmerstown Woods from Cloverhill Road was recently undertaken.  The boundary consists of a mature hawthorn hedge which is planted adjacent to a chainlink fence.  The boundary is considered to be in good condition however it has been breached in one location at the Cul de Sac in the vicinity of house number 88.  The gap allows direct access onto the footpath at Cloverhill Road where a bus stop is located.  

If this motion is passed by the Committee arrangements will be made to close the gap subject to the identification of the necessary resources.
