MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor T. Ridge

That this Committee requests an update regarding the house at entrance to St.Patrick’s Rd., Clondalkin in view of children trespassing and playing games, the residents are anxious about the long delay regarding the land transfer.

REPORT:

As the Councillors will be aware the Council has been endeavouring to acquire title to a small strip of land which has been included in the house site at 1a St. Patrick's Road.  The Council's Valuer has been in discussions with the registered owners of the strip of land with a view to negotiating terms for the acquisition of the land by the Council  but to date has not been successful in rectifying the title by agreement. Accordingly it is now proposed to initiate proceedings to acquire the land by way of Compulsory Purchase Order and the necessary maps and notices are being prepared at present.

In the event that the Compulsory Purchase Order is confirmed, the Council will review options to have the house occupied as quickly as possible.
