MOTION NO. 10

MOTION:  Councillor D. Looney

That this Council will include, by the end of the calendar year 2012 at the latest, an easily-accessible yearly breakdown of all Councillor expenses and remuneration on its website (correctly annotated to take account of different positions), beginning with the election of the current Council in 2009.

REPORT:

In accordance with Section 142 (4)(g) of the Local Govt Act 2001 and Article 8 of SI 552/2001 Local Authorities are obliged to keep a public register  in relation to Members' attendances at meetings, expenses, remuneration, Mayor’s allowance, etc.   

This level of information is regularly the subject of Freedom of Information requests.  

Members were advised earier this summer of the Council's requirement to comply with these regulations, and to make this information readily available on our website under Your Council   This information has now been collated and is currently being prepared into a format for publication.  It is expected that the data will be ready for publication  in mid - September 2012.
