QUESTION NO. 23
QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
To ask the Manager for a report on the budget allocation for Graffiti Removal per electoral area for 2012 and how this relates to the service provided in previous years and what reduction, if any has taken place/is planned from that agreed by the members when approving the 2012 Budget?
REPLY:
The provision for graffiti removal works in the 2012 Budget is €36,000 relating to materials and plant hire but excluding payroll costs which are included in the overall Cleansing payroll provision. There was no change in this provision from 2011 to 2012. The budget is not allocated per electoral area however data is being gathered through the Council's new Scheduling System that will facilitiate area specific reporting from next year.
To date this year there have been 123 graffiti removals completed in the County.
All budget provisions including that for graffiti removal are currently being reviewed to inform the budgetary process and any proposed changes will be advised to the Members during that process.
