QUESTION NO. 10
QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart
That the Manager provide a report on how the Council managed during the recent spell of heavy rainfall and to list any vulnerable locations in the county as a result?
REPLY:
On a continuous basis South Dublin staff monitor all known areas within the county that are vulnerable to flooding. The rivers, streams and drainage network was closely monitored by the Council’s Drainage & Roads staff throughout the recent prolonged rainfall period and in response to MetEireann weather alerts, Council crews were active on the ground taking measures such as cleaning gullies and removing debris from river screens in flood prone areas.
There were no incidents of flooding reported in the South Dublin County Council area during this recent period.
