QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"To ask the Manager for a detailed update on preparations of the proposed 12^th Lock Area Masterplan?"

REPLY:

Work will commence on a Masterplan for the 12th Lock area in accordance with SLO 37 of the County Development Plan in 2012 subject to the prioritisation of work within the Planning Department.  Any work on a masterplan for the 12th Lock must consider the proposed R120 upgrade.  It is part of SLO 37 to secure physical and infrastructural improvements including "the upgrading of the R120 Newcastle Road".  A briefing meeting for the Elected Representatives on the upgrading of the R120 was provided by the Roads Department in April 2012.
