MOTION NO. 3

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"That this Area Committee requests the Manager to implement a programme to improve the visual attractiveness and ongoing maintenance of the general vicinity of both the Ballydowd (Woodies) and Newcastle Interchanges on the N4, including along the ‘on’ and ‘off’ ramps and in particular focussing on areas of landscaping; and to further request that interested local groups be directly consulted with as part of this work, including Lucan Tidy Towns, Hermitage Park Residents Association and the Hillcrest Environmental Group."

REPORT:

The Contractor, Jons Civil Engineering Ltd, is responsible for the maintenance of the verges on the bypass until December 2012.  They have already been requested to carry out this maintenance in accordance with their contract and we await confirmation of a date in this regard.
