Report on 1a, St. Patrick's Road, Clondalkin

REPORT:

As the Councillors will be aware the Council has been endeavouring to acquire title to a small strip of land which has been included in the house site at 1a St. Patrick's Road.  To date the Council has been unsuccessful in rectifying the title by  agreement. The Council's Valuer has been in discussions with the registered owners of the strip of land with a view to negotiating terms for the acquisition of the land by the Council and the owners have been invited to meet with Council officials to progress the matter.  If this avenue does not prove successful, it is likely that the Council will have to seek to acquire the land by way of a Compulsory Purchase Order.

As indicated in the Motion, given the timescale which has been expended to date and may be required in the future to resolve this issue, it may be necessary to identify an alternative means of securing an occupant for the home rather than by disposal.
