QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon

"To ask the Manager to report on the operational condition of the underground recycling bins at carpark Whitestown Road, and confirm any proposals in this regard?"

REPLY:

The underground bring bank facility at Sean Walsh Park has been out of operation for some time now due to water damage to the electro-hydraulic system which lifts and lowers the platform on which the glass bottle receptacles sit.  The contractor who installed the system originally has been requested to carry out the necessary repairs to the system.  It is hoped to have it operational again within the next four weeks approximately.
