QUESTION NO. 9

QUESTION: Councillor T. Delaney

To ask the Manager if the grass bank at the rear of GAA pitch and grass verges alongside recently installed path/cycleway can be restored and to address the lack of maintenance of shrubbery in park particularly the area surrounding and approaching the Clondalkin Leisure Centre (also the possibility of adding or enhancing shrubbery)?

REPLY:

Works have re-commenced on the installation of Public Lighting and CCTV ducting beside the new shared Cycle route at Clondalkin Park.  This work was delayed due to poor weather conditions in recent weeks which has prevented the completion of final reinstatement works on the mound and on the disturbed margins along the new cycle track. A new bridge is also to be installed shortly over the Camac River,  in the vicinity of Cherrywood Avenue as part of the scheme. It is hoped to have all these works completed over the next 6/8 weeks.

The cleaning of the planted area in the vicinity of the entrance to the Clondalkin Leisure Centre will be carried out as soon as possible, in consultation with the management of the Leisure Centre.
