MOTION NO. 7

MOTION: Councillor C. King

That this Committee, while taking into account the significant financial constraints this Council is currently working under, calls on the Manager to investigate the possibility of installing one or two ramps or other form of traffic calming on Deerpark Avenue as a number of young children have been knocked down recently as a result of speeding, the configuration of the Road and the parking practices of residents.

REPORT:

There is currently no budget for traffic calming and Deerpark will be added on the list of areas waiting for traffic calming schemes. The residents can request for 'Slow Children at Play' sign's and this / these can be installed at a cost to the residents.

On the issue of irresponsible and dangerous parking the residents can supply details of locations of areas where they want to prohibit parking and these can be examined for the feasibility of installing parking restriction measures.
