QUESTION: Councillor C. King
"To ask the Manager to report on how many DPG's, Mobility Aids Grants & Housing Aid for Older Persons Grants have been issued this year to date in the Tallaght area, how many more of each are expected to be delivered by years end and how does the associated expenditure compare to the the same twelve month period last year?"
REPLY:
The Council does not keep records of grant applications or payments on a geographic basis but an examination of the applications received to date this year indicates the following number were received for the Tallaght area.

With regard to the expected no. of approvals to year end the Council is unable to give exact nos. However, the total no. of applications approved in year end 2011, for all areas, is as follows:-
HAGS – 163 applications; MAGS – 51 applications; HOPS – 52 applications.
Please see table below for - Expenditure at 8th June 2012 comparable to expenditure at 8th June 2011, with regard to applications for all areas.

Please note the submission of applications under the Housing Aid for Older People Grant Scheme is significantly less than in 2011. Under this Scheme the Council has received 14 valid applications to date in 2012 compared to 28 for this period in 2011.
